UPDATES:
Welcome to another episode of PodcastGearGuide. This week, we're covering on PC Software for Audio Production. Today's gear is NCH Swift's WavePad.
This is a Free software that i have been using for many years in audio recording and post-production. In fact, all the Podcast Gear Guide episodes recorded so far have been edited through this software. Have a look.
By the way, have an opinion or suggestion on how to improve this Podcast or this website? Email me at mike@podcastgearguide.com. Cheers!
The Gear: Shure SM57A Beta MicrophoneThis week's review is on the Shure SM57A beta Microphone.
The Shure SM57A Beta is a dynamic mic for vocals and instruments. Its a second generation microphone (hence, Beta) from Shure. As with all dynamic mic, this doesn't require Phantom Power. The down side is that you can't hook this up directly to your PC sound card - you'll need an additional DI (Direct Input) box or Pre-amp to connect to you PC. These devices usually come with audio jacks that could hook up to your sound card - plus it also boosts the signal strength for a decent recording level.
Episode 2 of our weekly review of on all things related to podcast production - audio hardware, software or websites.
I've been asked many questions about the low sound quality of the first Episode. That's because, for every episode, i'll try to use the equipment that i'm reviewing to do the recording - as such last week's was done with the Panasonic Voice Recorder. I hope that in doing so you will get a sense of how the end-product will sound like.
Today my review's on the Logitech Premium USB Headset 350. Enjoy!
Welcome to the first episode of Podcast Gear Guide's weekly reviews of hardware, software, websites and all sorts of gear for Podcasting!
For the first Podcast, let's start with the simplest tool anyone can get for producing Podcasts - a voice recorder.
We have a look at the Panasonic RR-US395 IC Recorder. Its simple and easy to use. Take a listen!
Cheers,
Michael
